Former Deputy Director and twice Acting Director of CIA from 2009 to 2013. A 33-year veteran of the CIA, including time as the head of analysis and daily intelligence briefer to President George W. Bush. Only person to be with President Bush on 9/11 and with President Obama on May 1st, 2011 when Bin Laden was brought to justice.

Author of The Great War of Our Time, a New York Times bestseller. Member of President Obama's 2013 Review Group on Intelligence and Telecommunications Technology. Member of the 2018 National Defense Strategy Commission.

Currently consulting on geo-political risk with Beacon Global Strategies. Helping educate the public on national security issues through various media activities, including as Senior National Security Contributor at CBS News and as host of the award-winning CBS News Intelligence Matters podcast. Teaching the next generation of national security leaders in a number of undergraduate and graduate programs, including as Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Schar School at George Mason University. And, helping to leverage the U.S. private sector through private equity and venture capital investing to advance American national security.

Norman began his career working in the information security and risk management space, leading to his co-founding one of today's leading Third-party risk management platforms, Prevalent. He has spent the past 20 years working to enable companies to manage external and third-party risk. 

Norman is widely regarded as a thought leader in the external risk space, and regularly speaks at information security industry conferences & events. He holds numerous information security certifications, and has contributed to the Shared Assessments Risk assessment Body of Knowledge.
